The province of Phang Nga is located north of Phuket (60 kilometers), there is also the Phang Nga National Park with its unforgettable rocks and numerous islands. This is truly one of the most spectacular places in Thailand. Magical rocky landscape and emerald water attracts tours and crowds of tourists to the numerous islands of the bay-Ko Tapu or James Bond Island (so named after the 1974 film “The Man with the Golden Gun” where it was filmed), Ko Panyi (village of sea gypsies), Ko Panank, Ko Hong, Ko Talu Nok, Ko Lava Yai and others.
The islands were created by the accumulation of limestone rocks. Over many millions of years, marine organisms (corals, mollusks, etc.) formed large beds of sedimentary limestone, rich in calcium. Later this all turned to stone, of course, due to high temperatures and the pressure of their own weight. This process lasted for millions of years. Then tectonic movements of the earth’s crust slowly pushed the limestone upward and lifted it above the sea.
The limestone then began to form the classic karst landscape under the influence of a hot and humid climate.
Here you can book a private tour to this island.
